Abelia 'Raspberry Profusion'
An abundant flowering and double impact through its flamboyant raspberry sepals
'Raspberry Profusion', a hybrid between ‘Edward Goucher’ and Abelia chinensis, is remarkable for its early blooming and a double effect. The entire plant is generously covered with big clusters of strongly scented pink flowers with flamboyant raspberry sepals. Beginning in May, flowering is at its height in June and continues through the summer and autumn. When the flowers drop the sepals remain, prolonging the interest of its flowering and bringing an attractive colour until the end of autumn. The pretty, brilliant green foliage mostly falls in winter. The shrub is of limited growth, robust and compact, forming a wide dome, it is hardy and resists both heat and drought.
Its flowers and its colours are at their best in full sun. It tolerates partially shaded positions.
